In 1962, the Ten People group — the informal circle of Singapore-based artists from which the Association would later grow — travelled through Java and Bali, exchanging work and well-wishes with Indonesian artists along the way. A privately kept commemorative album from the journey survives, titled 十人画集：印尼旅遊作品 ("Ten-Man Art Exhibition: Works from the Indonesia Tour"). 1962 年，日后孕育出本协会的非正式艺术家群体"十人画会"，远游印尼爪哇 与巴厘岛，沿途与当地艺术家交流作品、互赠题词。此行的一本私人纪念画册留存至今， 题为《十人画集：印尼旅遊作品》。
The 1962 trip was the Ten People group's second overseas journey, following an earlier expedition along the east coast of the Malay Peninsula in 1961. Among the travelling artists was Yeh Chi Wei, who would go on to found the South-East Asia Art Association eight years later. The visit was arranged in part through Lee Man Fong, who held Indonesian citizenship at the time and helped host the Singapore group on Indonesia's behalf. The dated pages in the album trace a route through Bali, Jakarta and Yogyakarta across April 1962 — Bali on 6 April, Jakarta on 2 April, and Yogyakarta by 17 April — suggesting the group moved between these centres over the course of the month. 画册中标注日期的内页，勾勒出 1962 年 4 月间途经巴厘岛、雅加达与 日惹的行程——4 月 6 日在巴厘岛，4 月 2 日在雅加达，4 月 17 日已至日惹——显示画会 在当月内辗转于这几处艺术重镇之间。
Several pages of the album were filled by Indonesian artists and art circles the group met — signatures and addresses from ASRI (Akademi Seni Rupa Indonesia, the Yogyakarta fine arts academy) and Sanggar Bumi Tarung, an artists' collective based in Gampingan, Yogyakarta, alongside names from Jakarta and Bali. Among the signatures, two belong to artists of lasting historical note: Henk Ngantung, the painter who later served as Governor of Jakarta, and Basoeki Resobowo (signing as "Merbowo"), a prominent Indonesian painter of the period. Many further names appear across the pages — Abas Alibasah, Trubus S., Sabirdjamal, Amrus Natalsya, Brammastho and others — reflecting the breadth of the exchange, though not every signature is legible enough to transcribe with confidence. 画册中有数页，由画会沿途结识的印尼艺术家与艺术团体留下题词——包括 ASRI（印尼日惹国立美术学院）与位于日惹甘平岸（Gampingan）的艺术家团体 Sanggar Bumi Tarung 的签名与地址，另有来自雅加达与巴厘岛的题名。其中两位 签名者具有较为持久的历史地位：日后出任雅加达市长的画家亨克·南顿 （Henk Ngantung），以及当时印尼知名画家巴苏基·雷索波沃（Basoeki Resobowo，署名"Merbowo"）。册中另见多个名字——如 Abas Alibasah、Trubus S.、Sabirdjamal、 Amrus Natalsya、Brammastho 等——足见此行交流之广泛，惟部分签名字迹已难以完全辨识。
